While visiting sonsbeek you might have noticed that aside from a number, each artwork has been assigned a frequency.
The curators have composed an exhibition styled as a jam session, surpassing strategies of visual art, and expanding into music, stories, and performances. The conceptual framework of sonsbeek is structured around five frequencies that connect artworks across locations and center the topics of labour and its sonicities.
Each frequency has a corresponding poem and text which help the visitors to see the red thread running through the artworks gathered within one frequency, while providing plenty of space for their own interpretation. This allows for multiple ways of experiencing sonsbeek; by following a route based on the proximity of locations or by following a frequency.
